Planet in the Selcundi Drema sector (presumably Drema I)

The Selcundi Drema sector, also called the Drema Quadrant, contains five planetary systems.

One of these systems contained the following planets:

  • Drema I
Uninhabitable due to massive volcanic activity. Expected to end up like Drema V.
  • Drema II
Uninhabited, no indigenous lifeforms present. Due to severe geological activity not suitable for colonization. Expected to end up like Drema V.
  • Drema III
Uninhabited, no indigenous lifeforms present. Due to severe geological activity not suitable for colonization. Expected to end up like Drema V.
Homeworld of the Dremans.
destroyed; has become an asteroid belt

This sector was first explored by the USS Enterprise-D on stardate 42695.3. The main reason for exploration was because unmanned probes discovered geological activity on all five planetary systems.

On stardate 42696.3, a mineral survey started which ended six weeks later. Each system was found to have the same geological instability.

Drema IV is the only habitable planet in the Selcundi Drema sector. (TNG: "Pen Pals")

BackgroundEdit

The writers of this episode seem to have changed premises partway through writing. Early on in the episode, Selcundi Drema is referred to as a quadrant containing five planetary systems, in other words, five stars. Later on in the episode however, Data mentions the fifth planet of Selcundi Drema, suggesting it is a single planetary system with five planets. It is again called a quadrant a couple of times, and then Wesley refers to it as the Selcundi Drema system.
