Sector 1156 was a neutral region of space that had been previously charted by the Federation, as of 2370. It was located two sectors away from the location of the D'Arsay system.
In late 2370, the USS Enterprise-D investigated a rogue comet in Sector 1156 that was determined to have originated from the D'Arsay system. (TNG: "Masks")
