The Scottish Highlands were a mountainous region in Scotland.
The Caldos colony was terraformed to mimic Scotland. During his visit to the planet in 2370, Jean-Luc Picard found the area to be "most impressive," stating that he felt "as if" he was in the Scottish Highlands. (TNG: "Sub Rosa")
After Miles O'Brien won a bet against Worf in 2374, he told the Klingon he would like a single malt Scotch whisky from the Highlands. (DS9: "Change of Heart")
