Template:Realworld Malcolm Scott Ciencin (1 September 1962 – 5 August 2014; age 51) was a prolific comic book and novel author. In addition to his Star Trek work, he worked on a number of novels in the Forgotten Realms, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Dinoverse series. He also wrote for the Demonwars and Silent Hill comic book titles.
His wife was Denise Ciencin, with whom he co-authored some non-Trek work. He died in Sarasota, Florida in 2014.
