San Diego was a major California city, located in the Southwestern region of the United States of America, on Earth.

After traveling back to 1930 to await the arrival of Leonard McCoy, James Kirk referred to San Diego as one of the countless locations McCoy may arrive in. (TOS: "The City on the Edge of Forever")
