"I lived in a world of secrets. Of sabotage and deceit". - Luther Sloan

Sabotage is the intentional destruction or damaging of a device to slow one's opponent. The etymology of word sabotage originated from the French sabot. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)

Montgomery Scott sabotaged the USS Excelsior in 2285 by removing chips from her main transwarp computer. This prevented the Excelsior from pursuing the stolen USS Enterprise. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)

The Klingon exobiologist J'Dan was accused of sabotaging the dilithium chamber of the USS Enterprise-D resulting in an explosion in 2367. It was later revealed that it was rather an accident and not an act of sabotage. (TNG: "The Drumhead")

While the Cardassians were withdrawing from Bajor after the occupation's end in 2369, Cardassians on board Terok Nor sabotaged and booby trapped the station, as part of standard military procedure when abandoning an outpost. (DS9: "Emissary")

In 2369 Commander Sisko suggested sabotage when the aphasia device infected the whole station. Kira Nerys told him that because of the diboridium core it was Cardassian sabotage. (DS9: "Babel")

In 2371, under orders from Admiral Toddman, Michael Eddington sabotaged the USS Defiant's cloaking device's tetryon compositor. (DS9: "The Die is Cast")

In late 2371, a changeling sabotaged the USS Defiant in order to ignite a war between the Federation and the Tzenkethi. (DS9: "The Adversary")

In order to make it appear that the Founders were a greater threat to Earth that they were, Admiral Leyton had Red Squad sabotage the global power grid in 2372, plunging Earth into a blackout. (DS9: "Homefront", "Paradise Lost")

During the Battle of Cardassia in late 2375, the civilians on Cardassia Prime sabotaged the planet's communications, transportation and power systems, causing a planet-wide blackout. This disabled the Female Changeling's ability to command the Dominion ships during the battle. The disarray caused by this allowed the allies to defeat the Dominion and Breen fleets and force them to retreat. It also led to the destruction of Lakarian City and further threats to destroy Cardassian cities if the sabotage continue, which was begun when the Female Changeling ordered the extermination of the Cardassians. (DS9: "What You Leave Behind")
