Template:Realworld Russell Herpich, often credited simply as Russ Herpich, was a special effects technician on Star Trek: First Contact. According to the Internet Movie Database, he is the makeup lab foreman for Proteus Make-up FX on 2008's Star Trek.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Herpich worked with the special effects company Creature Effects Inc. on such films as The Arrival, Scary Movie 2, Van Wilder, and The Last Samurai (the latter written by John Logan). Afterwards, he became a special effects technician, mechanical engineer and makeup effects artist for the now-defunct company Captive Audience Productions. During his time at Captive Audience, Herpich worked on such films as The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Scary Movie 4, World Trade Center and Apocalypto.

Herpich also worked as a mold maker for Amalgamated Dynamics Inc. on the 2000 film Cast Away and was a special effects technician on Seabiscuit, The Alamo, and In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (starring Kristanna Loken, Ron Perlman and John Rhys-Davies). He is credited as a mechanic on the hit 2006 film 300 and as a puppeteer on such films as Flicka and Epic Movie. He recently reunited with Creature Effects Inc. as a member of the company's mechanic effects crew on The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
