Roswell was a city in New Mexico on the North American continent of Earth.

In 1947, Quark, Rom, and Nog crashed in Roswell, after their shuttle traveled through a time warp from the year 2372. Taken into custody by the US Army Air Corps, they were treated with suspicion by the military, who believed that they were part of an alien invasion force. The three Ferengi were eventually able to escape with the assistance of two helpful Humans, retrieve their ship and return to their own time by recreating the time warp. This event was subsequently covered up by the military, who issued an official statement that only a weather balloon had been recovered. (DS9: "Little Green Men")
