Rootleaf was a food matter, available in the Enterprise NX-01 galley, that Doctor Phlox' Edosian slugs were partial to in boiled form. When Phlox had several Tarkaleans in his sickbay after the Borg attack, Captain Archer offered to have some brought down to feed the slugs. (ENT: "Regeneration")
