The Romulan system, which is not far from the Romulan Neutral Zone in Sector Z-6, was the star system that contained the capital planets of the Romulan Star Empire, Romulus and Remus. Romulus, the largest and most heavily populated M-class planet in the system, was destroyed by a supernova in 2387. It is not known whether any other planets in the system were also destroyed.

On a computer display in Star Trek Nemesis, the Romulan system was depicted, containing one primary star and four orbiting planets, among them Romulus and Remus. However, since we do not know anything about the other two planets or the Romulan sun, there is no speculative information about those celestial bodies included in this article. The designation for the Romulan sun was unknown, although some unverified sources suggest it might be "Romulus", too. However, in Diane Duane's "Rihannsu" novels, the Romulan sun was referred to as Eisn.
