Robert Sampson has worked steadily from the 1960s to the 1990s. He has held regular roles in five short-lived television series, has acted in about thirty-five movies, and has guested in about eighty television shows (some more than once), primarily in the 1960s and 1970s.

He starred alongside Star Trek: Deep Space Nine guest star David Birney in the 1970s series Bridget Loves Bernie.
