Template:Realworld Robert M. Cole is a special and visual effects artist who worked as special effects artist on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Working from the 1960s on, Cole provided special effects for television series such as Mister Ed (1965-1966), The Addams Family (1965-1966), Petticoat Junction (1965-1970), The Beverly Hillbillies (1965-1971), Green Acres (1965-1971), Bearcats! (1971), B.J. and the Bear (1978-1981), Supertrain (1979), and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979-1981).

Further credits as special effects artist include the music comedy The Blues Brothers (1980), the crime comedy Cheech & Chong's Next Movie (1980), the fantasy comedy The Incredible Shrinking Woman (1981, with Kevin Pike), the horror film Poltergeist (1982), the science fiction film Blade Runner (1982, with Ken Estes, Donald Myers, Terry Frazee, Logan Frazee, and Greg Curtis), the television series Cheers, The A-Team, Hardcastle & McCormick, Riptide, Hunter, and Stingray, the fantasy film Ghost Busters (1984), the action comedy Midnight Run (1988), the comedy Soapdish (1991), the comedy sequel The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991), the science fiction comedy Coneheads (1993), the sequel Addams Family Values (1993), the comic adaptation Batman Forever (1995) and its sequel Batman & Robin (1997), the comedy prequel The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas (2000), the adventure Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003), the science fiction film Serenity (2005), the comic adaptation Iron Man (2008), the fantasy comedy Bedtime Stories (2008), the mystery thriller Inception (2010), and the drama The Social Network (2010).

More recently, Cole worked on the special effects in the science fiction film John Carter (2012), the drama People Like Us (2012, written and produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, directed by Alex Kurtzman, and starring Chris Pine), the science fiction romance Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012), the comedy This Is 40 (2012, special effects coordinated by Donald Frazee), and the music drama Boogie Town (2012).
