Rick Freeman is a sound editor who worked on the Star Trek: The Next Generation third season episode "Yesterday's Enterprise". For this work he received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series in 1990 which he shared with Gerry Sackman, Bill Wistrom, James Wolvington, Mace Matiosian, and Wilson Dyer.

Working in the sound department for a decade, Freeman started his career as sound effects editor on the action drama Class of 1999 (1990, with Zack Davis, Alan Howarth, Doug Jackson, Lance Laurienzo, Jerry Trent, and Robert Ulrich) and as dialogue editor on the drama Femme Fatale (1991), the science fiction film Neon City (1991), the horror comedy Army of Darkness (1992), and the television series The Little Mermaid (1992).

Further credits as sound and dialogue editor include the television special I Yabba-Dabba Do! (1993), the television series L.A. Law (1993), the drama Reality Bites (1994), the comedy For Better or Worse (1995, starring Jason Alexander), the thriller Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995), the science fiction thriller Virtuosity (1995), the crime thriller Mulholland Falls (1996), the action drama Twister (1996), the science fiction comedy Men in Black (1997), the crime comedy The Big Lebowski (1998), the comedy Madeline (1998), the comedy Wirey Spindell (2000), and the comedy Passing Stones (2001).
