Richard Merson (14 May 1934 – 1 June 2003; age 69) was the actor who appeared as the pie vendor in the Star Trek: The Next Generation second season episode "Elementary, Dear Data" in 1988.

Merson was born in England and appeared in only a few movie and television productions including Night Court (1987, with David Graf, Rif Hutton, Keye Luke, and John Larroquette) and Quantum Leap (1992, with Scott Bakula, Dean Stockwell, Brian George, and James Gleason).

He died of bladder cancer in Fulton, Texas in 2003 at the age of 69.
