Richard McKenzie was a Starfleet captain in the 24th century.

McKenzie was part of the Engineering Group which helped design and construct the starship USS Enterprise-D. His name was listed on the dedication plaque of that starship when it was commissioned in 2363. (Star Trek: The Next Generation)

In 2365, he held the rank of Captain, and was the commanding officer of the USS Yamato. By stardate 41591.1, he was replaced by Captain Donald Varley. (TNG: "The Measure Of A Man", "Contagion")

This character's name was never mentioned in dialog; his name came from a dedication plaque and a Starship Deploy Status chart seen on Starbase 173.
