Richard Evans (23 January 19352 October 2021; age 86) was the actor who played Isak in the Star Trek: The Original Series second season episode "Patterns of Force". He filmed his scenes between Wednesday 29 November 1967 and Tuesday 5 December 1967 at Desilu Stage 9, Stage 10, Stage 11 and on location at Paramount Pictures' "European town" backlot.

Evans began his acting career in 1958, and had appeared in over 80 television productions in the following decades, usually as a guest actor. His credits include series such as Wagon Train, Alfred Hitchcock Presents (with Arthur Batanides), Temple Houston (starring Jeffrey Hunter, featuring Anthony Call and Bill Zuckert), Ben Casey (with Pilar Seurat, directed by Leo Penn), Gene Roddenberry's The Lieutenant (starring Gary Lockwood, featuring Irene Tsu and directed by Vincent McEveety), Dr. Kildare (with Ken Lynch, Lee Meriwether, and Corey Allen, written by Stanley Adams and George F. Slavin, directed by Leo Penn), The Fugitive (with Tony Dante), Perry Mason, Gunsmoke, The Big Valley (with Ed Bakey and Troy Melton), The Mod Squad (starring Clarence Williams III and Tige Andrews, featuring William Smithers, Alan Oppenheimer and Nick Borgani), Bonanza (with Willard Sage and Hamilton Camp), The F.B.I. (with Pilar Seurat, Steve Ihnat, Clint Howard, Paul Carr, Ed Bakey, and Jay Jones), Mannix (with Erik Holland, directed by Michael O'Herlihy), Barnaby Jones (starring Lee Meriwether), Quincy, M.E. In 1965, he appeared in 26 episodes of the popular soap opera Peyton Place as the character Paul Hanley.

Evans mostly retired from acting in the mid-1990s, but still appeared sporadically in a few productions, including an episode of The Brief. In 2007, he wrote, directed and acted in the independent film Shadow of Rain.

In his later years, he lived in the village of Clinton, on Whidbey Island, Washington, where he passed away on 2 October 2021 at the age of 86.
