Richard Cox (born 6 May 1948; age 65) is an actor from New York City, New York, who played the role of Kyril Finn in the third season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation entitled "The High Ground".
He has appeared in a number of other television series, including The Rockford Files, Murder, She Wrote, L.A. Law, Law & Order, Guiding Light, The X-Files, Millennium,The Practice, and ER. He also guest-starred in an episode of Threshold, which starred TNG actor Brent Spiner (Data). Former Star Trek production staff members Brannon Braga, Mike Sussman, and André Bormanis wrote and produced for the series.
Cox was a regular on the 1976 series Executive Suite, as were Sharon Acker, Leigh J. McCloskey, Paul Lambert, Madlyn Rhue, Percy Rodriguez, Mitch Ryan, and William Smithers. TNG/DS9 director Corey Allen was also a director for this series. Cox also had a recurring role in the short-lived science fiction series The Vistior (1997-98), starring fellow TNG guest star Leon Rippy.
His feature film credits include 1977's Between the Lines (with Stephen Collins, Michael J. Pollard, and Robert Costanzo), 1980's Cruising (with Paul Sorvino and Mike Starr), 1981's King of the Mountain (with Seymour Cassel and Anthony De Longis), 1987's Zombie High (starring Virginia Madsen and Kay E. Kuter), 1988's Shattered Innocence (with Stephen Yoakam and Dennis Howard), 1996's Looking for Richard (with Harris Yulin, Kevin Conway, and F. Murray Abraham), and 1998's The Climb (with Stephen McHattie). He also had a role in the 2000 made-for-TV movie American Tragedy, co-starring Christopher Plummer and Jeff Kober.
