Richard Castillo

Lieutenant J.G. Richard Castillo (2344)

Richard Castillo was a human Starfleet officer serving in the 24th century. As a quirk, Castillo preferred that his friends and crewmates called him "Castillo," and only allowed his mother to call him "Richard."

In 2344, Castillo was a lieutenant junior grade, stationed aboard the USS Enterprise-C as helmsman, and was aboard during that vessel's last mission to Narendra III. Although rumors persisted that some of the crew survived the attack and were taken as prisoners, Castillo's fate remains unknown. (TNG: "Redemption II")

During the battle at Narendra III, the Enterprise was sent twenty-two years into the future by a temporal rift. Castillo found it hard to come to terms with the change, and the fact that he would likely never see his home or his family again. During the mission, Castillo formed a strong relationship with Tasha Yar, the tactical officer aboard the USS Enterprise-D. Following Captain Garrett's death, Castillo assumed command of the Enterprise, as the last surviving officer of the senior staff, and took the ship back into the rift. (TNG: "Yesterday's Enterprise")

It is unknown as to if Castillo survived the attack when the Enterprise-C was sent back into the rift, although it is possible he was one of the prisoners who was taken to Romulus, as revealed in Redemption II.
Richard Castillo was played by Christopher McDonald. The costume for Richard Castillo includes three 5-year service pins, meaning that Castillo had been in Starfleet for over 15 years prior to 2344.
