Parton was one of the founding and charter members of the Stuntwomens Association of Motion Pictures in 1967 alongside fellow Star Trek stuntwomen Mary Statler and Donna Garrett. She was the daughter of the late stuntman Regis Parton, who died in 1996.
She has performed stunts and stunt acting parts in films such as The Love Bug (1968, with William Couch, Carey Loftin, and Tom Steele), Dirty Harry (1971, with Andrew Robinson and stunts by William Couch, Vince Deadrick, Chuck Hicks, Dick Crockett, and George Sawaya), Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972) and Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973), Earthquake (1974, with John S. Ragin, George Murdock, Gene Dynarski, Eugene Collier, Kenny Endoso, Jerry Hardin, Jimmy Nickerson, and stunts by Tony Brubaker, Bill Catching, Erik Cord, Paula Crist, Dick Crockett, Dick Dial, Nick Dimitri, Gary Epper, Donna Garrett, Robert Herron, Tommy J.
