The Field reader tube is a 2260's medical device. Issued with the Medkit, the field reader tube was used when the low-powered medical scanner was inadequate or a new lifeform was encountered. When placed in direct contact with the patient's skin, multicolored lights displayed heart rate, pulse rate, blood pressure, and body temperature.
