Male Ocampa 4

...as an Ocampa

Randall J. Bosley (born 1 August 1947; age 67) is an actor who played an Ocampa in the Star Trek: Voyager pilot episode "Caretaker". As an extra, he received no on-screen credit for his appearance.

Bosley remembers the shoot at the Los Angeles Convention Center and the reshoots after the departure of Genevieve Bujold. He still owns his Ocampa ears. He is married to former extra Loretta Gordon, who appeared in two Star Trek episodes. They met on the set of the television series Picket Fences.

Bosley was born in Van Nuys, California and in 1962 moved with his family to San Diego, where he graduated from the high school and attended the San Diego State University. He worked for twenty years as a professional photographer and started in the film business as a television extra. As an actor he has appeared in many television series, including Homefront (1992, episode Can't Say No, with Ken Jenkins and Kevin Scott Allen), Mad TV (1996, alongside series regular Debra Wilson), The X-Files (2000, episode Sein und Zeit and in a deleted scene in Closure, alonsgide Kim Darby, Spencer Garrett, and Mark Rolston), Malcolm in the Middle (2002, episode Stupid Girl, with Kenneth Mars and Roger Morrissey), and in three episodes of the comedy series Mind of Mencia (2006-2007, with Estelle Harris in the first one). Other television series he has appeared in are L.A. Law, Saved by the Bell, Midnight Run, and Dark Justice.

Bosley has acted in several films, such as the comedy Camp Nowhere (1994, with John Putch, Christopher Lloyd, Jonathan Frakes, and fellow Voyager actress Kate Mulgrew), the six Academy Award-winning Forrest Gump (1994), the drama Murder in the First (1995, starring Christian Slater and Brad Dourif), the fantasy film Kazaam (1996), the comedy Monkeybone (2001, with Whoopi Goldberg, Mary Stein, Ted Rooney, and Scott Workman), the drama The United States of Leland (2003, with Michael Welch, Ron Canada, Clyde Kusatsu, and Jim Metzler), the comedy Envy (2004), and the horror thriller Neighborhood Watch (2005, with Damara Reilly and stunt coordinator Kim Koscki).
