The RMS (Royal Mail Steamship) Titanic was an ancient Earth ship. Touted as unsinkable thanks to innovative transverse bulkheads, the Titanic struck an iceberg and sank on its maiden voyage.
In an alternate 2374, Lieutenant Tom Paris of the starship USS Voyager created transverse bulkheads based on the Titanic to strengthen the ship's hull after successive Krenim attacks. When Captain Janeway reminded Paris of the Titanic's fate, he assured her he had improved the design. (VOY: "Year of Hell")
The script of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Playing God" described the verteron nodes in the wormhole as being "like icebergs blocking the Titanic".
