Quintotriticale is a high-yield, perennial, five-lobed grain, genetically engineered hybrid of wheat and rye. The root grain, triticale, can trace its ancestry back to 20th century Canada. In many ways similar to quadrotriticale, this seed grain was developed to be even stronger, more resistant to disease, and easier to grow than its predecessor.

In 2269, the USS Enterprise escorted two robot ships filled with quintotriticale to Sherman's Planet in order to relieve the famine-besieged Federation world. (TAS: "More Tribbles, More Troubles")
