Quarkian was a chemical element listed on the Table of Elements. It was a member of the Omega series. (TNG: "Rascals")
The element Quarkian is presumably named after subatomic quark, but it may have been named after the DS9 character Quark, since Deep Space Nine was in pre-production at the time.
