The quantum resonance oscillator is a component of a Federation transporter module. It can be detected using a modified coil scanner.
In 2372, the crew of the USS Voyager attempted to retrieve a transporter module stolen by Seska by scanning for its quantum resonance oscillator. (VOY: "Maneuvers")
