Q'Ell was a member of Tessic's species and a resident of the deuterium mining camp visited by the Enterprise NX-01 in 2152. Commander Tucker befriended Q'Ell when he caught the youth sneaking into his shuttlecraft. Q'Ell expressed a strong curiosity towards spaceflight technology. Tucker offered to take him to Enterprise for a tour. His camp was being terrorized by Klingon marauders who would steal the camp's deuterium. One time when the miners tried to stand up to the Klingons, his father was killed. After the crew of the Enterprise had trained the miners to fight, and prepared for the return of the Klingons, Q'Ell was told to hide during the battle. At first he refused, but Tucker persuaded him to do so. (ENT: "Marauders")
