In 2366, after dropping Commander William T. Riker and Lieutenant Geordi La Forge on the Tanuga IV research station, the USS Enterprise-D left the Tanuga system to study a protostar cloud. After one day of surveying, the ship returned to the science station. (TNG: "A Matter of Perspective")
