Portola Sardines was a brand of sardines offered on Earth in the early 20th century.
A sign advertising Portola Sardines was located outside the Cetacean Institute in Sausalito, California in 1986. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
The Monterey Bay Aquarium, which "stood-in" as the site of the Cetacean Institute, was formerly the Portola Sardine fish cannery. [1] [2]
