Pocket knife was a type of foldable or retractable knife designed to be carried in ones pocket.

Hoshi Sato, who was envious of Charles Tucker's engineering skills, once commented on how she wished she could "fix warp engines with duct tape and a pocket knife." He responded, stating that "it's a bit more complicated than that." (ENT: "Observer Effect")

A pocket knife was also used by a child playing in the street on Sigma Iotia II in 2268. (TOS: "A Piece of the Action")
