Phylobiology is the biology of groups that share a genetic relationship.

In 2369, Deanna Troi attended a phylobiology seminar hosted by Professor Wagner. Going into the seminar, she thought the it would involve participation from everyone present, allowing each to bring their own points of view to the discussion. But instead, as she described it, "he gathered 200 scientists from all over the Federation, and all he did was put us to sleep."

Fortunately, Data had a memory record of the lecture, and would gladly repeat the portions she missed, if she wanted. (TNG: "Timescape")
