A photonic pulse was a type of starship-mounted energy weapon capable of disrupting a vessel's sensor array.

Such a pulse was utilized by Kovin, an Entharan arms merchant, while attempting to evade the USS Voyager in 2374. The pulse took Voyager's sensors offline, requiring them to re-initialize the array before they were able to detect Kovin's warp signature. (VOY: "Retrospect")
