A photonic charge was a type of variable yield photonic weapon used by the Kazon-Nistrim as a ship-mounted weapon, the trans-dimensional photonic lifeforms as a ground-assault weapon, and the Federation Starfleet as an explosive.

In 2375, the photonic lifeforms from the "Fifth dimension" fired photonic charges from their realm through trans-dimensional distortion portals to attack Doctor Chaotica and his Army of Evil on USS Voyager's holodeck. The weapons fire registered as power surges on the Voyager's sensors. (VOY: "Bride of Chaotica!")
When the USS Equinox EMH was switched with that of Voyager's Doctor in late 2375, he planted photonic charges as explosives throughout the sickbay holoprojectors in case he was discovered. However, the Doctor deleted his program before he could activate them. (VOY: "Equinox, Part II")
