A phase pulse infection is a potentially fatal infection of the body, as a result of being shot with a phased energy weapon. Phase pulse infections are particularly dangerous to Andorians.
In 2354, Lieutenant Talas died of phase pulse infection aboard the Earth vessel Enterprise after being shot a point-blank range by a Tellarite using a Starfleet phase rifle. (ENT: "United")
