Petrarch (or Francesco Petrarca) was an Italian writer in the 14th century.
The Leonardo Da Vinci-hologram told Catarina in 2374, that when Petrarch had stood atop Mont Ventoux, he knew he witnessed the beginning of a new era, the Renaissance. (VOY: "Concerning Flight")
