Petrarch (or Francesco Petrarca) was an Italian writer on Earth during the 14th century.
The Leonardo da Vinci-hologram told Catarina in 2374, that when Petrarch had stood atop Mont Ventoux, he knew he witnessed the beginning of a new era: the Renaissance. (VOY: "Concerning Flight")
