(written from a Production point of view)

Peter S. Beagle (born 20 April 1939; age 73) is an American writer, primarily of fantasy novels and screenplays. He is perhaps best-known for his 1968 fantasy novel The Last Unicorn. He also wrote the screenplay for Ralph Bakshi's 1978 animated version of The Lord of the Rings, which in turn was indirectly responsible for Peter Jackson's blockbuster The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. In the Star Trek franchise, Beagle wrote the teleplay and the story (from an unpublished story by Marc Cushman and Jake Jacobs) for the Star Trek: The Next Generation third season episode "Sarek". He publishes through Conlan Press, a company run by his friend Connor Freff Cochran.
