Persephone system was an inhabited star system in Federation space. The Federation had colonized this system prior to 2364.

In 2364, the starship USS Enterprise-D arrived at the fifth planet of this system to arrange transport for Rear Admiral Mark Jameson and his wife Anne to the planet Mordan IV. At Mordan IV, Mark Jameson was expected to negotiate the release of the Federation embassy staff from their hostage takers. (TNG: "Too Short a Season")
