Peretor was a military title used on Mordan IV during that planet's long civil war. Peretor was the title Karnas used early in his rule. Admiral Mark Jameson referenced the title to Karnas to prove that he really was Jameson following Jameson's treatments to regain his youth which led to Karnas not believing that Jameson was who he claimed to be. Since Peretor was little known outside Mordan IV, Karnas was convinced that Jameson was indeed Jameson. (TNG: "Too Short a Season")
