Crewman Pechetti was a male Human engineer in 24th century Starfleet. He was stationed on board Deep Space 9 in 2373.

He was known as an amateur collector of alien insignia and a practical joker among his friends, which included his fellow engineer Boq'ta.

He and several others volunteered for a salvage operation on board Empok Nor. When he prepared the wish list of items to obtain, he included Cardassian insignia and emblems in the "Would Be Nice" category, hoping to add to his collection.

Pechetti was later killed in the habitat ring by a Cardassian Third Battalion, First Order soldier while trying to fix the microfusion reactor. (DS9: "Empok Nor")

Pechetti was played by actor Tom Hodges.
According to the script, Pechetti was pronounced as "peh-CHE-tee". The name "Pechetti" is not listed anywhere in Italy so the original was probably "Pecetti." He was described as "another engineer, human, in his mid-thirties." He wore no rank insignia, and was described simply as a "crewman" in the script.
For the scene where Pechetti's body is hung from the Promenade, Hodges and the other actors were placed in flying suits similar to parachute harnesses and suspended about a foot above the set. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion (p. 462))
