Pasta al fiorella

A plate of pasta al fiorella

Pasta al fiorella was a type of food, a pasta dish originating from Earth, possibly Italy.

Pasta al fiorella was among Geordi La Forge's favorite meals. When he and Worf visited the Replimat on Deep Space 9 in 2369, La Forge ordered it for both of them. However, while he considered the Replimat's version of pasta al fiorella to taste like liquid polymer, Worf called it delicious. (TNG: "Birthright, Part I")

The correct spelling should be "pasta alla fiorella", with ricotta (or "fiorella") and other ingredients like asparagus and bacon ("fiorella" - other than being a woman's first name meaning "small flower" - is a cheese made in Puglia that's a mix of mozzarella and ricotta): the concoction that Worf is eating may well be a wrong version of the real thing.
