A pagh'tem'far is a sacred vision in the Bajoran religion.
In 2373, Benjamin Sisko received a series of pagh'tem'far after receiving a plasma shock in a holosuite. In these visions, he was in the ancient city of B'hala, and could see the past, present, and future. A swarm of locusts appeared in the sky and hovered over the city, before heading off towards Cardassia. The visions were prophetic of the later Dominion-Cardassian alliance, and the coming Dominion War.
