Onna Karapleedeez was a well-known Starfleet officer who died under mysterious circumstances in 2364, possibly a victim of the neural parasites that had infiltrated Starfleet Command. (TNG: "Conspiracy")
The name is an exotic rendering of the Greek surname "Karaplides".
In "The Lost Era" novel The Buried Age, Karapleedeez is identified as a female Kreetassan, commanding the USS Mary Kingsley circa 2359. Her crew at the time included Second officer Kathryn Janeway.
