The Onizuka was a Federation Type 15 shuttlepod that was in service to Starfleet in the mid-24th century, attached to the USS Enterprise-D. During it's service it was labeled as both shuttlepod 05 and 07.

In 2366, the Onizuka was listed on the shuttlebay operations display as being available for use in Bay 2. (TNG: "Evolution")

In 2366, Lieutenant Commander Data used the Onizuka to land on planet Tau Cygna V and investigate the presence of a Human colony there, as the planet's atmosphere interfered with transporters. (TNG: "The Ensigns of Command")

During its appearance in "The Ensigns of Command", the Onizuka was labeled number 05, left over from the shuttlepod's previous appearance as the El-Baz, but this was corrected in subsequent episodes. (Star Trek Encyclopedia 2nd ed., p. 338)

Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge flew the Onizuka to Risa in late 2367. En route, he was taken captive by a Romulan warbird and brainwashed to participate in a plan to assassinate Klingon governor Vagh. A double of La Forge continued to Risa, and the real La Forge was returned to the Onizuka for return to the Enterprise. Although the Romulans erased all information about the encounter from the Onizuka's computers, Commander Data found evidence which indicated the memory wipe as well as hull microfractures caused by stress from the Romulan tractor beam. (TNG: "The Mind's Eye")

The Onizuka was seen parked next to the shuttlecraft Magellan in 2368. (TNG: "The Outcast")

Named for Ellison Onizuka, one of the astronauts who died aboard the space shuttle Challenger in 1986. (Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion 2nd ed., p. 101)
The computer voice of the Onizuka in "The Mind's Eye" was provided by Majel Barrett.
