An omnicordial species was a type of lifeform which was intersected by "Galactic Cluster 3," the Borg designation for a transmaterial energy plane.

The Borg assimilated autonomous regeneration sequencers from these lifeforms, which the Borg referred to as "Species 259." This technology would later be installed by the Borg on the USS Voyager in 2374. (VOY: "The Gift")
