Template:Realworld Oliver Crawford was a writer for three episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series. He first wrote the story and co-wrote the teleplay for the first season episode "The Galileo Seven" along with S. Bar-David. He went on to write the teleplay for "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" and to co-write the story for "The Cloud Minders" with David Gerrold. Both episodes were a part of the show's third season.

Crawford was among the many Hollywood writers who fell victim to the infamous blacklist of the 1950s, and one of the few to recover in their careers when it was over. Crawford's other television writing credits include Climax!, Rawhide, Bonanza, The Outer Limits, I Spy, The Fugitive, Gilligan's Island, The Wild Wild West, Ben Casey, Land of the Giants, Mannix, and Kojak. He also co-wrote the story for the western film The Man from the Alamo and wrote the teleplay for the 1985 TV movie The Execution, which was based on his novel. Robert Hooks, Allan Miller, and Alan Oppenheimer were among the cast members of the latter project.
