Ohio was a region of the North American continent of Earth. This was a state in the nation-state known as the United States of America.

Kent State University was located in Ohio as was the city of Cleveland. (VOY: "Deadlock", DS9: "Little Green Men")

The Wright brothers were from Ohio. (ENT: "North Star")
