Nucleonic interference is a term for a type of interference caused by the interaction of the two nucleons, the proton and the neutron.
In 2369, a spatial rupture created by solanogen-based lifeforms in cargo bay 4 aboard the USS Enterprise-D made it impossible to obtain a positive transporter lock on the affected bulkhead in order to beam it, together with the rupture, into space. (TNG: "Schisms")
