Norpin V was the inhabited fifth planet in the Norpin system. This planet was located within Federation space. Prior to 2294, the Norpin colony had been established on that planet. In that year, the transport ship USS Jenolan was lost while en route to Norpin V. (TNG: "Relics")
According to the script, the pronunciation for Norpin was "NOR-pin" [1]
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I"), Norpin V, and its sister planet Norpin IV, were listed as member planets of the Federation in 2378.
