The Norkan outposts were Federation outposts that were located near the Romulan Neutral Zone. They were destroyed by Romulan forces, commanded by Admiral Alidar Jarok, in the Norkan Campaign. The Federation decried the attacks as a massacre. (TNG: "The Defector")
The Norkan outposts were named after and located in the Norkan (Pi Hydrae) system. Primary was a Class K star. It had a magnitude of +3, which was 10 times brighter than Sol. This system was located in the Beta Quadrant. (Star Trek: Star Charts, page 66)
