Nine-ball was a variation of pool played with nine numbered object balls that must be pocketed in order by number.
In 2152, Charles Tucker III suggested that he and Jonathan Archer "shoot a little nine-ball" aboard Enterprise, giving the captain the option to break. (ENT: "Vox Sola")
